About Us

Kimberly Doubt, President/CEO founded the Light of Kimberly in 2015. She is a native Pittsburgher who attended Pittsburgh Public Schools. What is not known to most is Kimberly is actually a Westinghouse Bulldog! All of her high years were spent at Peabody. She graduated from Carlow University with a BA in Sociology. She completed Minors in Professional Writing and Psychology. She holds certifications in Theology, Counseling and Criminal Justice. She is also a certified Pennsylvania Direct Care Provider to write Individual Service Plans and Family Service Plans. She is commissioned by the State of Pennsylvania as a Notary Public. She has been employed as a Caseworker with the Allegheny County Jail for the last seven years. Kimberly is driven by a passion to advocate for minority women and girls who are a part of a marginalized population. She has a special interest in moving families towards stabilization as they are faced with challenges.kimberlydoubt@lightofkimberly.org

Jill M. Brant, Esq, Chair is a founding board member for the Light of Kimberly and is currently employed with the Department of Human Services as Manager of Court Relations at Allegheny County Children Youth & Families. Jill, a licensed Pennsylvania attorney holds a Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Seton Hill University. She has had 12 years of professional experience in advocacy, policy, strategic planning, and implementation. She is a member of the countywide Family Violence Task Force that works to address issues of domestic abuse systematically, in part by identifying overlaps with child welfare. Her work takes a cross-systems approach to make a substantial positive change in child welfare, the courts, and the jail. jillbrant@lightofkimberly.org

Michelle Walker was nominated and accepted the position of Vice Chair in 2019. She has been a board member in the Light of Kimberly since June 2018. Michelle is the founder of Lend An Ear Consulting, an organization that advocates for people with disabilities and who dismantles barriers of communication. Michelle is Deaf/Hard of Hearing and is a proud supporter of Deaf Awareness, Autism Awareness, Special Education, and Domestic Abuse Awareness. She specializes in disability accessibility and inclusion as an analyst who coaches clients, whether corporate, collegiate, or private, with the critical stages of development, implementation, and offers short and long-term solutions for best practices.michellewalker@lightofkimberly.org

Krista Byers was nominated and accepted the position of Secretary in 2019. She has served in an advisement capacity for the Light of Kimberly since the organization was founded in 2015. She has been a board member since April 2018. She is a former Caseworker at the Allegheny County Jail and transferred to the Office of Children, Youth & Families. Krista graduated with high honors and holds a master’s degree in Applied Criminology from the California University of Pennsylvania. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Penn State University, Greater Allegheny. Krista has a great interest in advocating for the fair treatment of women who are incarcerated who have children involved in the child protection system. She works to resolve the issues they face being involved in both systems. Debra McClung, Treasurer has been a board member with the Light of Kimberly since June 2018. She graduated from the historic Schenley High School in Pittsburgh, PA. She attended Community College of Allegheny County where she obtained various certifications from Aspects of Mental Health, Psychotropic Medication, Crisis Intervention, and Fire to First Aid/CPR. She has exemplary leadership abilities that have led her into different positions such as Management, Sales Advising, and Customer Service. Debra has dedicated her life and career to working with underserved populations. For more than twenty years she has held various positions with Mainstay Life Services an organization that provides residential services and supports to individuals who are intellectually disabled.debramcclung@lightofkimberly.org

Stephanie Hill has served in an advisement capacity for the Light of Kimberly since the organization was founded in 2015. She officially became a board member in 2018. Stephanie earned an associate’s degree in Social Work from the Community College of Allegheny County. She is an alumnus of Woodland Hills High School. Stephanie is the Founder/Director of Operations of Family Services United, a non-profit organization that provides support and services to individuals who are intellectually disabled and veterans. She has spent the majority of her career in the caring profession working as Direct Care Provider, Outreach Advocate for ”At-Risk” adolescent girls, Certified Nursing Assistant, and as Drug & Alcohol Professional and House Manager providing care to disabled individuals in a residential setting. stephaniehill@lightofkimberly.org

Darah Doubt-Swinton has served in an advisement capacity for the Light of Kimberly since the organization was founded in 2015. After fulfilling her desire to be educated in the field of dental health and medicine, she returned as a board member in 2018. Darah holds a Bachelor of Science from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania.
